The Ashanti Region has emerged as the region with the greatest number of first-time voters in the ongoing limited voter registration exercise.
The Greater Accra region is trailing the Ashanti Region with 2,137 of registrants while Ashanti Region leads with 2.732
Oti Region recorded the lowest number of registrations with 246 first time voters showing up to have their names in the voters register.
This is contained in data released by the Commission after day one of the exercise.
The Commission on Tuesday, May 7, begun the limited voter registration exercise for first-time voters and persons who wish to own a voter card.
The 21-day exercise will end on May 27, 2024.
Chairperson of the EC, Madam Jean Mensa, says the exercise aims at registering approximately 623,000 first-time voters across the country.
