A convener of the FixTheCountry demonstrations, Mr. Oliver Mawuse Barker-Vormawor has been arrested by the Tema Regional Police Command.
The arrest followed a post he allegedly made on a social media platform to the effect that he would stage a coup himself if the E-Levy Bill is passed by Parliament.
The post, according to a police release, contained a clear statement of intent with a possible will to execute a coup in his declaration of intent to subvert the constitution of the Republic of Ghana.
The police indicate he will be arraigned before a court on Monday, 14th February, 2022.
The Police warned Ghanaians to avoid making pronouncements that may lead to a breach of the peace of the country as any such acts contravene the laws of the country.
