One of the headliners of the sport journalists’ fronted demonstration against the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and Ministry of Youth and Sports, Veronica Commey, has highlighted the importance of the protest in the scheme of improving Ghana football.

Commey stated the demonstration that is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, February 14, is not just about making demands but also as a means to offer solutions too.

She said this in an interview on Citi FM’s Sports Panorama after organizers of the demonstration secured a permit from the Ghana Police Service.

Veteran journalists Saddick Adams and Patrick Osei Agyemang are among the individuals fronting the protest that is set to roll out in the wake of Ghana’s abysmal performance at the 2023 AFCON in Cote D’Ivoire.

“We are not just trying to make demands but also offer solutions as much as possible because as long as government is spending or investing money into football, you almost cannot say that you are spending money but you are limited to doing just this and not.”

“The (Ghana) Football Association are managing the game in trust of supporters, in trust of the nation so what it means is that we should be able to have a say in terms of how football is run.”
