Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has urged Ghanaians to support and vote for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), saying he is right leader for the country at this crucial period.

In a video message played during the launch of the NPP’s 2024 Manifesto launch in Takoradi on Sunday, Mr. Kufuor expressed strong conviction in Dr Bawumia’s leadership qualities.

“We are entreating the nation to give Bawumia a chance. I see him as a man of destiny, particularly for the moment we are in now. I believe he is the man of the moment,” the former President said.

This marks the second occasion Mr Kufuor had publicly endorsed Vice President Bawumia following his emergence as the NPP’s flagbearer in the Party’s internal elections on November 4, 2023.

Earlier, Mr Stephen Ntim, the National Chairman of the Party, urged members to remain united ahead of the December polls.

He urged Ghanaians to support the party’s flagbearer and the parliamentary candidates.

“I humbly call on all Ghanaians to support our party’s flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, and all our Parliamentary Candidates in the upcoming general election.
