Former President John Mahama has shocked many Ghanaians suggesting a coup d’état to happen in Ghana.
The former President, at a rally attended by National Democratic Congress’ members and supporters, accused the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government of engaging in embezzlement and other illegal activities, hence stressed the need for a Military takeover.
In a viral video monitored by Peacefmonline, Mahama told his supporters that “if all these corrupt acts happening under NPP government has occurred under the NDC regime, the Military would have overthrown our government by now”.
He reiterated; “I’m telling you the truth! If this level of corruption and all the bad things we are seeing under the Bawumia/Akufo-Addo government had happened under NDC, there would have been a coup d’état.”
The former President also launched scathing attacks on Chiefs and religious leaders saying “we have Pastors, Imams, Chiefs and civil society groups in this country who instead of rebuking the NPP, rather support them. When NDC says something, it is like we are the bad ones. They must rather joining forces with us to tell the government that, due to your wickedness towards Ghanaians, it is time for you to go. But you will see Chiefs commending them (NPP) that they have done good jobs.
“In the churches, you see pastors praying for him (Bawumia) that the government has done a good job; we bless you and may God give you victory. He goes to the traditionalists and they pour wine to their shrines and ask their ancestors to guide him (Bawumia)”.
“How can you all wish for such a foolish government to win?”, he questioned.
