Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has stated that the government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo has put in a lot of effort to turn things around from what the situation used to be at the time it came into office in 2017.
The economy, he said, was on the verge of collapse but the NPP government set about restoring it to normalcy and made great
gains
before
the Coronavirus pandemic hit and impacted all economies in the world.
Delivering a lecture on the state of the economy at the National TESCON Conference on Thursday 7th April, 2022 the Vice President indicated that the relatively strong performance of the economy when the NPP took over the reins of governance, among other things, led to Ghana becoming the destination of choice for Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) in West Africa.
The COVID- 19 pandemic, he said, however, changed the economic circumstances
of
Ghana and virtually
every
country
in
the world.
