Tyson Fury has retained his WBC heavyweight title after knocking out compatriot Dilian Whyte in the sixth round of their bout at the Wembley on Saturday.

In the first round, both fighters were cautious as they spent round assessing each other and were not too forward in throwing punches. Whyte had a slight 10-9 advantage after the round.

Entering the second round, Fury’s confidence grew as he started dominating the bout, making good use of his long arms and powerful jabs.

The advantage switched 10-9 in favour of the two-time World Heavyweight Champion at the conclusion of the 2nd round.

In the next two rounds, Fury had taken complete control of the fight, and his physical and mental game was displayed with perfect dexterity. Whyte suffered a cut right eyebrow as the fight got crazy.

As the fight got deeper, Whyte could not withstand the barrage of punches thrown at him and was obviously helpless against the bigger and heavier Fury who dominated most of the fight.

Then came the sixth round when the deed was done. The Gypsy King threw a powerful right uppercut to knockout his 34-year-old opponent.

After his victory, Fury thanked the 94,000 attendees who witnessed his triumph and also thanked Whyte for being a warrior.

The 33-year-old claimed his opponent proved to be one of the best fighters in history.

It was an emotional exit at Wembley for Fury who had earlier claimed he had promised his wife he would retire after the Wilder trilogy but stated that when the Whyte fight was arranged, he knew he had to do it for the UK people.

So, could this be the last professional fight we are going to witness in Tyson Fury’s career?
