Serbian Milovan Rajevac is set to be appointed the next Ghana coach on a two-year deal worth a reported $45,000 per month.
Rajevac was recommended by the three-member committee set up to find a new Black Stars coach following the sacking of Charles Akonnor.
His recommendation has been approved by Ghana Football Association and government.
Rajevac will be assisted by Otto Addo.
However, another assistant coach is being considered because it’s unlikely that Otto Addo will work for Ghana on a full-time basis. The Hamburg-born wants to combine Ghana with his role as Dortmund assistant coach.
Mas-Ud Didi Dramani and Maxwell Konadu are the reported contenders for the second assistant position.
Rajevac was Black Stars head coach for two years between 2008 and 2010.
He guided Ghana to their first Afcon final in 20 years in 2010 and also led the team to the World Cup quarter-finals in South Africa.
Rajevac quit Ghana a few months after the World Cup for a lucrative job in Saudi Arabia, where he was appointed head coach of Al-Ahli.
Since then, he has managed four teams including Algeria and Qatar.
But he has not coached any team since 2019 when he was sacked by Thailand.
