Past President of The Apostolic Church-Ghana, Apostle Peter Okoe Mankralo has urged Ghanaian Christians to reject any legislation that attempts to legalize homosexuality in the Country, as the Bible frowns on it.

He made a call when he delivered a message to Ghanaians on Sunday, 24 December 2023 at the end of Christmas convention of The Apostolic Church-Ghana Calvary District on the theme, “The birth of Jesus, a prophecy fulfilled”.

Touching on corruption, he cautioned public servants, who embezzle public funds at the expense of the ordinary Ghanaian to put an end to that and charged the citizens to show high level of patriotism and get rid of selfishness, greed and wickedness that stand against all forms progress and threatens to rewind the clock of progress.

He noted that corruption has the chance of wiping away the prosperity of our young democracy and weakening the usefulness of our public institutions and undermining our economic stability and becoming detrimental to genuine foreign direct investment.

He further cautioned that, God will bring judgment on Christians if they do not do away with corruption and engaging in attitude that could lead them to hell.

“Christians should be law abiding and support the government toward the implementation of its agenda to fast forward development in the country.

He urged Christians to see the birth of Christ as God becoming flesh and living among us and to inspire us to live above partisanship and divisions that will destroy us as a people, for that reason church leaders should refrain from dividing the congregation political lines.

The introduction of political divisions into the church he observed is attributed to the lack of unity and focus and the leadership of the church needs to stand against the political division in the church and rather focus on the second coming of our lord Jesus Christ.

“When the path of division is taken it will exposed Christians to reproach and denigrate the gospel and salvation that is created by the church to win souls”, he added.

He said it is not wrong for a Christian to belong to a political party, but it is necessary that Christians devote more of their time seeking the welfare of their fellow Christians and the nation at large, than using the church to champion political agenda, adding that if the situation is not checked it would lead to unnecessary tension and division among Christians ”which we do not like.”

“We therefore urged the church to pray for the peace of the nation more especially as the 2024 general elections approaches and refrain from situations that will undermine the peace, security and stability of the country.

If we do not do that and choose the path of acrimony and disunity, we would create a dangerous path for not only ourselves but our children and those yet to be born, he stated.
