God will reject National Cathedral – Prophet Ofosuhene Gyimah

The Founder and Leader of Captain Jesus Prayer House, Prophet Isaac Ofosuhene Gyimah has said God is not happy with the National Cathedral being built in Ghana and will outrightly reject it.

According to him, the cathedral project is a drain on the national coffers at a time Ghanaians are reeling under economic hardship, adding that God has not asked anyone to build him a house of worship.

The Executive Director of the National Cathedral project, Dr. Paul Opoku-Mensah has disclosed that work on the project has been suspended as the Secretariat has run out of capital to finance the construction.

He made this revelation on Tuesday when the Redeem Christian Church of God donated to the Secretariat.

“We have the contractors and their staff on site, but the work has been suspended. We are hoping that within the next couple of weeks, as part of our fundraising and other initiatives we can begin work again,” he stated.

Commenting on the issue in an interview on Kasapa 102.5FM/Agoo TV Wednesday, Prophet Isaac Ofosuhene Gyimah said there’s no way God will be happy with the construction of a cathedral when the State is not able to properly house prisoners.

“The construction of the National Cathedral is a waste of money. Why on earth will you build a place of worship for God when you’ve failed as a nation to build spacious prisons to house prisoners? Our prisons are chocked due to overcrowding and that does not bother us as a people to build bigger prison facilities. We are rather busying ourselves with building a house for a God who does not live in a structure made by man. You are building for God when your fellow human being has nowhere to lay his or her head, will God accept this building? certainly not. The Almighty God views Ghanaians as people who lack knowledge because of our priority choices.”

The Finance Minister had announced that an amount of ¢25 million had been released to the project consultants in May 2022.

This was the second time money tagged as “seed money” was being released except that in the first instance the amount involved was $25million and it was said to have been paid in November 2020.
