The National Chief Imam, His Eminence Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu has stated that any theory or practice that runs contrary to heterosexual orientation is injurious to humanity.

According to him, the activities of LGBTQs are neither human nor right but are rather inhuman and evil.

He expressed his support for the efforts to dismantle homosexuality within the confines of legality and rationality in Ghana and applauded the fact that Ghanaians of all faiths have been united by a common concern about this evil.

Deputy Spokesperson of the National Chief Imam, Dr. Marzuq Abubakari, stated these on behalf of His Eminence at the Speaker’s Breakfast Meeting in Parliament last week.

Dr. Marzuq represented the Chief Imam when a coalition against LGBTQ made up of traditional authorities, religious groups and MPs among others conferred with the Rtd. Hon Alban S.K. Bagbin on the subject and also presented to him a Private Members Draft Bill.

The Draft Bill, when passed into the law, will make Ghana’s position on homosexuality clear and emphatically criminalize the practice.

Dr. Marzuq observed that heterosexuality remains the only means of responsible procreation, genealogical continuation and human race revitalization in all civilized communities.

“Therefore, any theory or practice that runs contrary to heterosexual orientation is injurious to humanity.”

“And that is why his Eminence is of the view that we must remain within the confines of the law to fight this evil.”

“His Eminence is very glad that we have all gathered here to respect the law, and to use the law to fight for the good people of the Republic of Ghana,” he stated.

Dr. Marzuq stated that the law is a balanced legal tool to confront a global abomination and noted that the law protects the legitimate rights of homosexuals to safety, “But criminalizes their apparent behaviours,” he added.

The Draft Bill, he said, if passed into law will be the final onslaught against the forces of homosexuals and forces of sexual disorder in a land of moral order.
