Pollster and Editor for the Daily Dispatch Newspaper, Mr Benjamin Emmanuel Epson popularly called, Ben Epson has chastised people who are questioning his credibility in terms of polls predictions.
Ben Epson has recently predicted that the NPP flagbearership race is not between Vice president Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Alan Kyerematen as has been suggested widely, but rather between Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Kennedy Agyapong.
After Ben Epson’s prediction a lot of Ghanaians and for that matter NPP folks believe that the pollster has lost credibility because the NPP flagbearership race is solely between Bawumia and Alan.
People who have been following Ben Epson’s polls believe that he usually guesses because his predictions in recent times have failed.
When asked on Oyerepa Breakfast Time if indeed he has lost credibility, the editor stated categorically that, people who think so are sleeping.
According to him, he has conducted 7 polls since 2000. Six of those predictions have come to pass whilst only one has failed.
“I have done 7 polls since 200 and I got 6 right so what’s the big deal?”
Per him, he predicted that Akufo-Addo would win the 2020 polls and it came to pass “so are people who are questioning my credibility sleeping?”
“I got 2020 polls right so what are people talking about”? He questioned.
Reacting to some who believe he does guessing, Ben Epson stated that, he wouldn’t waste time on elections if he guesses, but would guess on lotteries.
“If I were guessing I would rather guess on lotto numbers.” Ben Epson stated
As per him, he will continue to conduct his polls and if anyone believes can do better, he/she should venture into the game because one does not need a license to conduct polls.
I’ll continue to do my polls. If you want to be a pollster, just do it because you don’t need a license to be a pollster.”
