The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) says he is determined to return the party to power.

He stated that his vision and passion is to see the NDC winning the 2024 elections to form the next government.

According to him, he has discharged his responsibilities as the National Chairman of the party faithfully, the reason he must be retained as National Chairman of the party.

In a push for retaining the seat, he told Power FM’s Mugabe Maase that he has over the years served the party dutifully.

Mr Ofosu-Ampofo Ampofo who is the current National Chairman of the NDC is facing stiff opposition from Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the party’s General Secretary in an election billed to be the clash of two party heavyweights.

But Mr Ofosu-Ampofo insists he has what it takes to bring the party back from opposition.

“I will lead the party again and we will win the 2024 elections. I will place NDC above my personal parochial interests, I cannot trade NDC for nothing, I know NDC delegates will not fail me.”

“Ghana is on the verge of collapse…We have a country to save” , Mr Ofosu-Ampofo claimed.

The National Chairman aspirant stated that during his watch the party is undertaking a lot of reforms like never before indicating that “We have done a lot of work in the Ashanti Region.”

Mentioning among others the One Lawyer One Constituency initiative intended to educate members of Constituencies on legal matters, Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo disclosed that a Policy group developing policies for the party ahead of the 2024 general elections has been formed to develop alternative policies for Ghanaians.

In his view, there are a lot of plans to make the party attractive to the people and that as ” an organizer and grassroot person; I touch base with them”.

Touting his strengths, the NDC National Chairman said all branch elections across its 40,000 branches have been organized, expected to build a very solid foundation upon which to build the party.
