A private legal practitioner, Nii Kpakpo Samoa Addo, has suggested to President Akufo-Addo to extend an invitation to the Minority to help bring ideas on board in addressing the current economic challenges facing Ghana.
Speaking on Asaase Radio’s news analysis and current affairs show – The Forum – on Saturday (19 March), Addo said the current situation calls for a national solution.
“There’s a limit to the budget constraints that we have and where we are now. The government is literally struggling and if we don’t find national solutions, we can’t run the way we’re running,” he said.
“The government with the current numbers they have in Parliament can’t solve the economic problems alone and the president must come to that realisation.
Reach out
“This is the time I think President Akufo-Addo should reach out to the opposition, invite them in and together, let’s look for solutions,” Addo said.
“The NPP says the NDC has nothing to offer, no problem. You’re the government in power, cost of living is going up and so you don’t need the input of the opposition, we wish them well.
“The NPP has always used the economy to bastardise a government in power whenever they want to come to power and when you do that, you open yourself up to same,” Addo added.
