Ghana forward has praised youngster Jesurun Rak-Sakyi in the aftermath of Crystal Palace’s 0-3 loss to Manchester United in the third round of the 2023-2024 Carabao Cup at Old Trafford.
The teams face off on Saturday, September 30 in the English Premier League at the same venue with Palace coming off a 1-3 loss to Aston Villa.
Speaking to Palace TV after the loss, Ayew was confident of a bounce back performance from Palace this weekend but took time to praise the efforts of Palace academy products Rak-Sakyi and David Ozoh.
“Jes is a very good player. He’s a future talent and did well at Charlton [on loan last season]. David is a good young player. I’m happy for them that they’re having opportunities now – it’s for them to seize them.”
Rak-Sakyi is a 20 year old right winger born in London to Ghanaian parents and is eligible to represent Ghana internationally at the senior level after representing England’s Under 20 side.
Featuring in the 0-3 loss to Man United marked Rak-Sakyi’s fifth appearance of the season with three coming in the EPL.
