Ghanaian forward Kamal Sowah has signed with Belgian club Standard Liege on a season long loan from Club Brugge.
The transfer was made public on the club’s official X (formerly Twitter) page. The deal allows the switch to be made permanent at the end of the 2023/24 season.
Sowah started his professional career at Leicester City before moving to OH Leuven on loan from 2018 to 2021 where he scored 11 times in 63 appearances. He played for Club Brugge in 2021.
He also had a loan spell at Dutch side AZ Alkmaar but made just eight appearances.
Speaking at Sowah’s signing, Director of Football at Standard Liege, Fergal Harkin, was quick to point out what Sowah will bring to the team.
“Kamal will strengthen our offensive sector and increase competition within the group. His experience in the Belgian championship, his technical and physical qualities, his speed and his percussion will be additional assets for our team”.
Kamal Sowah has made one appearance for the Black Stars of Ghana in in a pre World Cup friendly against Switzerland in Abu Dhabi.
