Two new deputy directors of communication have been appointed at the Office of the President to help spearhead information flow, the Dailymailgh.com can confirm.

The two are a deputy Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kofi Agyepong and Jefferson Sackey, a broadcaster and also a member of the Communications Directorate at the Jubilee House.

The two will work together with Eugene Arhin, the Director of Communications at the Office of the President.

Profile: Kofi Agyepong

Kofi Agyepong, a well-known personality in the Ghanaian media space, is a political communication consultant and a loyal member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He is a graduate of the Leicester University, UK, where he obtained a Master of Arts degree in Media and Public Relations in 2019. Between 2008 and 2010, Kofi Agyepong attended the Africa University College of Communications, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies in 2010.  He attended the Kumasi High School between 2000 and 2002, where he obtained his Senior High School Certificate, according to Accra-based Asaaseradio.com.

As a trained Journalist from the Africa University College of Communications, Kofi Agyepong, was a prolific writer for the Graphic Sports newspaper in Ghana and the Guardian Newspaper in the United Kingdom. He is a member of the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA), which is the world’s largest professional PR body.

Jefferson Sackey’s Profile

Jefferson Kwamina Sackey is a multiple award-winning Ghanaian Journalist, Media Consultant, Film Maker, and PR Strategist. He is known for his quality presentation skills and command of international issues. He was the Media Relations Officer to the current President of Ghana Nana Akufo-Addo while he served as Ghana’s Foreign Minister and also serves as his personal archivist. He worked as a news presenter at the Accra-based radio station Joy FM of the Multimedia Group Limited.

Sackey was born at Senya Breku in the Awutu Senya District of Ghana but moved to Accra at a very tender age with his parents. He attended the Riis Memorial School for his Elementary and Junior High School Education. Jefferson’s media talent was uncovered at the tender age of 9, where he was featured on the popular kids programme, ‘Children’s Own’ and ‘By the Fire Side’ on GTV.

While in Secondary School, he hosted the Teenage magazine programme, ‘Teen Beat’ in the late nineties. In 1994, he continued his education at one of Ghana’s prestigious high schools, Accra High School. He later enrolled at the Ghana Institute of Journalism where he offered Journalism and later went to the Deutsche Welle TV Training Institute in Berlin, Germany.

Sackey started Journalism in 2005 with TV Africa as a lead News Anchor. He later hosted his own global affairs show ‘JS International Assignment’ which later became ‘Jefferson Sackey Report, a first-class news documentary production going beyond the headlines to tell in-depth stories and from many points of view. The show which started on TV Africa, got syndicated on Joy News, Ghana and other global news channels including Afroglobal Television in Canada.
