“The right to demonstrate is non-negotiable! I pray the “Kume Preko Reloaded” demonstration turns out peaceful. Such events help consolidate our democratic dispensation. And so we can and must support the right of any group which wants and desires to embark on such democratic exercises!
My plea is that let’s not “ridicule” those who call for or embark on such exercises, regardless of the content of their communication. After all, comedy is therapeutic! Or? Calling for the resignation of a President or a Vice- President or both, is also an exercise in FREE SPEECH. For me , their “mouths eno be guns”! Let them talk their talk!
However, there’s no provision in the Constitution which COMPELS a President or a Vice President to RESIGN! NONE! RESIGNATION as captured in the Constitution , is neither “COMPULSORY” nor “FORCED/ENFORCED”! OR BOTH! General Ankrah’s resignation during the NLC era, is of no constitutional relevance in today’s context !
(I am ready to be EDUCATED otherwise!)
The constitutionally sanctioned option today, is IMPEACHMENT. And I want to believe serious students/analysts of the Constitution know that! Anything contrary to that, is an exercise in “CONSTITUTIONAL MASTURBATION” Apparently, that (“CONSTITUTIONAL MASTURBATION) is also allowed by the Constitution!
It is part of FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION! Or?
Demos, yes! Free Speech, yes! Achieving the resignation(s) of President and Vice President? A journey to NOWHERE! My two pesewas!!
Good Ghana!!”
