Large numbers of travelers are being recorded at Madina Bus Terminal, primarily due to the December 7 polls, with significant traffic to destinations in the Volta, Eastern, and Western Regions.

All commercial vehicles heading to destinations such as Afloa, Ho, Kpando, Anum Boso, Dzodze, Akatsi, Tadzevu, Tarkoradi, Tarkwa, Cape Coast, Nkawkaw, Asamankese, and Anyinam were quickly filling up.

While some vehicle operators report that the numbers are like typical Friday travel, many passengers, in interviews with the Ghana News Agency, confirmed they were traveling for the December 7 elections.

Mr. Douglas Dufe Agbeko, who was traveling to Tadzevu to vote, urged the public to promote peace throughout the electoral process.

“I am from Teiman Abokobi and I am going to Ziorfe in the Volta Region to vote. I am urging Ghanaians to have a peaceful election,” said Madam Dorothy Gati, another passenger.

Maame Ama Ansah, a resident of Spintex, Accra, told the GNA she was traveling to Cape Coast to cast her vote, emphasizing that elections were essential for development.

“I am going to Anomabo, near Cape Coast, to vote. We all want peace and development. We want a leader who will bring prosperity into our lives and lessen our hardship,” said Maame Esi Akyere, another traveler.

Vehicles from Madina to Koforidua, Adukrom, Larteh, Mamfi, Akropong, Aburi, and Somanya have seen low turnout, a situation that operators have expressed concern about.

Mr. Kojo Charles Arthur, a driver at the Koforidua station, said they were hoping for a larger turnout later tonight and early tomorrow morning.
