The Ghana Police Service, in collaboration with the Ghana National Fire Service, has launched an investigation into a fire outbreak that occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at the Kwashieman Cluster of Schools.
The facility is notable for housing the Ablekuma North Constituency ballot boxes.
In a statement, the Police assured the public that anyone found responsible for the fire would be arrested and prosecuted. They urged citizens to remain calm as investigations continue into the cause of the fire.
This incident comes amidst ongoing tensions following post-election disturbances. According to the Police, 132 suspects have been arrested nationwide in connection with these disturbances.
Of these, 45 have been remanded in custody, 71 are on police enquiry bail, and 16 are on court bail while legal proceedings continue.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace and stability and urged the public to cooperate fully as investigations progress.
