Former President John Mahama has shared details of the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) economic reform agenda, setting the stage for potential changes in the upcoming elections.

Mahama revealed that the NDC had meticulously crafted a comprehensive plan, which would be presented to key stakeholders, including businesses, academia, civil society, and the youth.

He disclosed this in his 2024 New Year message delivered from his residence in Tamale on Wednesday, January 3, 2024.

A focal point of Mahama’s economic vision is the introduction of a new budget in April 2025.

This budget aims to provide robust support for businesses, fostering their growth and sustainability.

Additionally, the proposed budget includes strategic tax adjustments designed to serve as incentives for job creation, aligning with Mahama’s commitment to addressing unemployment and promoting economic prosperity.

Highlighting his commitment to economic growth, Mahama stated, “At the heart of my vision for economic growth.” This declaration emphasizes the importance of his proposed initiatives in driving positive change and development.

Mr. Mahama declared that those who have shattered the hope of Ghanaians will face electoral consequences on December 7, 2024.

He emphasized the importance of true leadership and asserted that leaders must act decisively to uplift the people from the challenges they face.

Mr. Mahama stressed the vital role of trusted leadership in fostering democracy and economic growth.

He stated, “Democracy cannot thrive without trusted and true leadership. Economics cannot grow without true and trusted leadership.”

He highlighted the significance of vision and inspiration in tough times and warned that when hope is extinguished, those responsible for destroying it must be voted out.

“Without hope, there is danger everywhere you turn. This is why the fundamental duty of any true leader is to instil hope where there is none or to revive it when it is gone. A true leader must cause positive change by example and action. I promise to lead the change and I invite you to be part of the change,” he added.
