The Member of Parliament for Assin South and former Deputy Minister of Education, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour has advised the Education Minister, Honourable Haruna Iddrisu to consolidate the gains made in Ghana’s education sector.
He said Hon. Haruna Iddrisu is on record to have acknowledged the monumental policy and vision of President Akufo-Addo for the Free SHS as one of the boldest steps in transforming education in the country.
Speaking on the floor of Parliament on the approval of Hon Haruna Iddrisu, Hon Kwame Agbodza and Hon Eric Opoku as Ministers for Education, Roads & Highways and Agriculture respectively, Rev. Fordjour expressed confidence in his successor’s ability to succeed.
“It is my expectation that he will leverage on his expertise and the mark that be made when he was the Minister of Communications subsequently to the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Employment And Labour Relations to navigate around the complexities of the Education Ministry.
“While we support the approval of Hon Haruna Iddrisu, Hon Kwame Agbodza and Hon Eric Opoku as Ministers for Education, Roads & Highways and Agriculture respectively, we expect the gains made in our education outcomes to be consolidated, the massive road projects started by President Akufo-Addo continued, and the ultimate reduction in food inflation” the Assin South Legislator added.
