Member of Parliament for Kumawu in the Ashanti Region, Philip Atta Basoah is dead. He reportedly died early morning, Tuesday, March 28 at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. He was 53.
Philip Atta Basoah was conspicuously missing in parliament last Friday, March 24, 2023, during a critical vote to confirm ministerial appointees of President Akufo-Addo.
According to reports, neither his Personal Assistant nor anyone close to him knew his whereabouts until his room was forcibly opened, only to find him collapsed on the floor and rushed to the hospital but passed away while plans were underway to fly him out for further care.
Hon Basoah was the former DCE for Sekyere East 2005-2009 under former President J.A.Kufour’s era and MP for Kumawu Constituency 2011 until his sudden death.
