The General Secretary of the People’s National Convention (NDC) has called for peaceful co-existence with high sense morality among Ghanaians.
Janet Asana Nabla says if that is attained, no politician will be able to engage in corruption.
In a statement to thank the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Ghana for its invitation to the PNC for the 2nd Biennial Conference, Ms Asana Nabla insisted that Ghanaians are corrupt but the politician is always blamed because they are in the spotlight.
The statement noted that politicians are widely perceived as being evil, deceitful and treacherous in their day-to-day activities but most of them are part of the 70 percent Christian population in Ghana.
“Churches must ask the government to designate a day as National Day for Repentance on which Ghanaians will confess their transgressions and demand reconciliation,” the statement on Sunday, July 16 noted.
The 2nd Biennial Conference dubbed ‘Revive Us Again, Oh Lord. Heal and Restore Choristers’ was marked at the Madina Zone of the Church on Sunday, July 16.
Wishing the Church a successful rebirth, the PNC also reminded Ghanaians that if they are benefitting from policies such as the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) and if there is a Ministry of Gender, “then the PNC must be given credit”.
