The President expressed his eagerness to officially host the champions at the Jubilee House in Accra, celebrating their remarkable success in the prestigious competition.

“Warmest congratulations to the gentlemen from “The School”, Mfantsipim, on emerging victorious in this year’s National Science and Maths Quiz competition,” the President emphasised.

Mfantsipim School, based in Cape Coast, claimed victory in the 2024 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) after a nail-biting finish, securing the title with 47 points.

The win marked their first since 2014, ending a decade-long wait.

St. Augustine’s College, also from Cape Coast, closely followed as first runners-up with 46 points, while Keta SHTS took third place with 33 points.

In recognition of their achievement, Mfantsipim received gold medals and a cash prize of GHS 70,000.

St. Augustine’s College was awarded silver medals and GHS 50,000, and Keta SHTS received bronze medals along with GHS 35,000.

The 2024 edition of the NSMQ saw a record participation of 157 schools, showcasing the growing interest in science and mathematics across the nation.

The National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) is an annual competition for Senior High Schools in Ghana, aimed at promoting the study of science and mathematics.

Produced by Primetime Limited since 1993, the quiz fosters healthy academic rivalry while encouraging students to develop quick thinking and a scientific mindset about the world around them.

Among the top winners of the competition, Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School (Presec Legon) holds the record with eight victories, followed by Prempeh College with five trophies and St. Peter’s Boys’ Senior High School with three.
