The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has issued a directive urging its Parliamentary Candidates (PCs) to actively engage in the ongoing limited voters’ registration exercise.
The call comes after the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) expressed disappointment over the lacklustre participation of some MPs and PCs.
A statement from the General Secretary of the party, Fifi Kwetey, indicated that during a meeting on May 14, 2024, the FEC noted that while certain MPs and PCs were diligently facilitating the registration process in their constituencies, others were either indifferent or absent. This inconsistent involvement undermines the party’s goal of winning the Jubilee House in the upcoming 2024 General Elections.
“FEC has consequently directed that, with immediate effect, all PCs are to go to their constituencies and actively participate in the exercise. Regional/ Constituency Chairmen are to monitor the involvement of Parliamentary candidates and report to the General Secretary’s office accordingly.
The NDC emphasized the importance of this directive in ensuring a strong voter turnout and securing a decisive victory in December 2024.
