Management of NLA issued a directive informing the Executives of GLOA and all PLOs, that effective 14th October 2022, they are to fully comply with the payment of the Lotto Commission, not exceeding twenty percent (20%) as determined by the Board of the NLA and agreed by the PLOs, pursuant to Section 28 of the National Lotto Act, 2006 (Act 722).

However, a statement signed by management of NLA stated that the Authority has taken cognizance of the publications by GLOA and PLOs instructing their Writers to comply with this directive or forfeit their license.  NLA highly applauds GLOA and the PLOs for enforcing this directive.

It said the “Management of NLA would like to reiterate that, by this directive, NLA shall deploy its task force in conjunction with the security services nationwide, to ensure full compliance with the payment of the 20% Lotto Commission.”

It added: “Failure and/or Refusal to comply with this directive shall result in NLA exercising its statutory mandate to revoke the License, not renew same, and/or ban the Lotto Operator from operating for a minimum of five (5) years, without prejudice to any other rights in and at law.”
