The National Lottery Authority (NLA) is set to deploy a task force in conjunction with the security services nationwide, to ensure full compliance with payment of Lotto Commission.

This follows a meeting between NLA management and the Executives of the Ghana Lotto Operators Association (GLOA) and the Concerned Lotto Agents Association of Ghana (CLAAG).

The Authority indicated that further to that meeting, Management has written to all Private Lotto Operators (PLOs) to notify them that effective 14th October 2022, they are to fully comply with the payment of the Lotto Commission not exceeding twenty percent (20%) as determined by the Board of the National Lottery Authority and agreed by the PLOs, pursuant to Section 28 of the National Lotto Act, 2006 (Act 722).

Failure and/or refusal to comply with the Notice, and the NLA will exercise its statutory mandate to revoke the License, not renew same and/or ban defaulting Lotto Operators from operating for a minimum of five years, without prejudice to any other rights in and at law.

A statement by the Authority said the NLA has resolved to hold periodic meetings with GLOA and CLAAG to improve the channels of communication.

Management urged GLOA and CLAAG to channel all their grievances through the Manager in charge of VAG and Private Lotto Operations (PLOs) of NLA, who acts as a liaison between the Authority and the PLOs.

Management also entreated them to desist from making unfounded allegations in the media as the offices of NLA are always opened to them.
