A former Central Regional Minister, Kwamena Duncan, has stated that nobody will be safe if ever Ghanaians make the mistake of voting the National Democratic Congress (NDC) back into power.
According to him, the NDC of old, the NDC today and NDC forever remain the same and will attack people for sharing their personal thoughts.
The opposition, he said, resorts to seditious statements against those who express unfavourable opinions about the party rather than sharing their thoughts and disagreements with such opinions.
Speaking on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo programme, Kwamena Duncan condemned attacks on the Superintendent Minister of the Amakom Circuit of the Methodist Church Kumasi Dioces, Rt. Rev. Stephen R. Bosomtwe Ayensu, by members of the NDC.
According to him, the Bishop only expressed his thoughts just like any other Ghanaian and slammed the party for the vicious verbal attacks on him.
The NDC, he said, should have been courteous even if they wish to respond directly to the comments of the Bishop but not result to personal attacks.
He stated that the verbal assaults on Bishop Ayensu by the ‘babies with sharp teeth,’ have always been the hallmark of the opposition NDC.
He argued Rt. Rev. Bosomtwe Ayensu, as a Bishop, should have been mindful of his utterances since he presides over a congregation but stressed the attacks on his person by the NDC were unjustified.
He said, “It’s true that religious leaders must see themselves in that light but everybody is human. If a religious leader or Pastor says something and you don’t agree with him, it doesn’t call for provocative attacks.”
“The NDC of old, NDC the same, NDC forever; meaning if they are not happy with something you say, instead of sharing their thoughts and expressing their disagreements, they resort to the use of seditious comments.”
“So, nobody is safe if ever we made that mistake and got them back into power,” added.
