It was attended by constituency executives from all the 6 constituencies in the region, comprising Nalerigu/Gambaga, Walewale, Bunkrugu, Yagba/Kubore, Nyonyo and the Chereponi constituencies.

Also in attendance were the NPP MPs and government appointees from the region including the North East Regional Minister, Hon Yidana Zakaria; the Deputy Gender Minister, Hajia Lariba Abudu; the Youth and Sports Minister, Hon Mustapha Ussif and the Director of Economic Analysis at the Office of the Vice President, Dr. Kabiru Mahama.

The Conference was also graced by a Representative from the Office of Vice President Dr. Bawumia, Mr. Fred Oware, who delivered the Vice President’s message, and announced his support package for the conference.

NPP General Secretary, John Boadu, in his address thanked the people of the North East Region for voting massively for the NPP in the last elections, winning 4 out of the 6 parliamentary seats in the region.

He said, “In the entire five regions of the north of the country, the North East Region is the only region where the NPP won in both parliamentary and presidential elections in 2020.”

John Boadu attributed this unprecedented feat to the good works of the Akufo-Addo government in the region particularly the creation of the north east region, as well as the hard work of Vice President Dr. Bawumia, Chairman Nuru and the rest of his executives.

The North East Regional Chairman of the NPP, Nurudeen Fuseini Nuru, led the Conference to deliberate and approve the Statement of Accounts as well as the Statement on the state of the Party presented by the Regional Treasurer, Mustapha Sumani and the regional secretary, Lawyer Sulley Sambian respectively.

The national executives who attended the North East Conference were the Deputy National Youth Organizer, Joseph Kwayaja’ Deputy National Communications Director, Nana Yaw Preko; Deputy National Communications Director, Kamal Deen Abdulai; National Youth Organizer, Nana Boakye Esq; 3rd National Vice Chairman, Omari Wadie; National Treasurer, Abankwa Yeboah; 1st National Vice Chairperson, Rita Asobayire; and General Secretary, John Boadu.
