NPA Boss Meets Tanker Owners’ Association

The Chief Executive (CE), of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Dr. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid has reiterated government’s continued commitment to creating an enabling environment that will be conducive for investors, especially local indigenous Ghanaians to operate in the downstream industry.

At a meeting on Thursday at the NPA head office with Tanker Owners Association, one of the critical stakeholders in the downstream petroleum industry. Dr Abdul-Hamid called for stronger cooperation and commitment between the two entities which he believes will help in moving the industry forward.

The meeting formed part of the CE’s engagements with stakeholders in the downstream industry and was aimed at further deepening ties with stakeholder groups.

Dr. Hamid appealed to the Association to review conditions of service of Tanker Drivers including their renumeration., adding that their service is a specialized one as such they should strive to build a lasting relationship with their drivers to benefit from their experience gained over the years.

The Executive Secretary of the Association, Mr. Ignatius Doe, on behalf of the group, was grateful to the CE for the warm reception given them and expressed the hope that with frequent dialogue and consultation, the industry will see a major boost and thereby contribute to national development.
