The Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr Richard Ahiagbah has distanced the Presidency from the music video that was shot by American rapper Meek Mill at the Jubilee House.
He said the music video was not sanctioned by the President.
“Meek Mill music’s video was not sanctioned by the Presidency. Its permission was not sought whatsoever for the use of the video. The musician has realized his indiscretion, apologized & taken down the video,” Mr Ahiagbah tweeted.
Following public uproar, Meek Mill apologized for the controversial music video and has since deleted it.
In a tweet, Meek Mill said, “my apologies to the people if any disrespected. We still gonna push to make the connection between black people in America and Africa.. What I’m trying to do is more than a video and you should see coming soon. My apologies to the office [of the President] also”.
He visited Ghana and performed at the AfroNation concert on Thursday, December 29, 2022.
