Gideon Boako, Economic Advisor and Spokesperson to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has declared victory for the Vice President in the upcoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates’ conference, scheduled for November 4.

He attributed this impending success to Dr. Bawumia’s exceptional composure in the face of relentless attacks, insults, and abuse from his rivals’ camps.

Dr. Bawumia has emerged as a symbol of self-restraint and unwavering focus during what has proven to be a highly charged and contentious internal campaign season.

Despite facing intense criticism and personal attacks, the Vice President has refrained from responding in kind, maintaining a calm and collected demeanour that has captured the attention of many.

Gideon Boako remarked, “Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is a good man. Yes, he is a good man. In the flagbearer elections campaign, Dr. Bawumia is the most attacked, the most abused, the most vilified, the most disrespected, the most denigrated, and what and what, but he is still calm and very focused.”

Dr. Bawumia, he said, has risen above the fray, refusing to engage in the negative rhetoric that has become synonymous with this internal election season of the NPP.

Mr. Boako also noted that those who have exhibited abusive attitudes towards the Vice President have, ironically, been among the most vociferous in expressing frustration.

“They are not even ashamed to lie about the dead mother of the Veep. Really? It is shocking how politics can get us to even lose our respect for the dead. Let them continue, and they will lose and lose big and come and cry like hungry babies with no parents.”

The declaration of victory for Dr. Bawumia underscores the belief that NPP delegates are acutely aware of the dynamics at play during this election cycle.

The party’s members are expected to make their choice based on qualities beyond mere rhetoric, recognizing the importance of leadership that remains steadfast in the face of adversity.

Addressing the desperation and frustration that have fuelled some of Dr. Bawumia’s competitors to resort to needless attacks, Dr. Boako stated, “But let it be told that their insults and attacks on the person of the Vice President and his family cannot win them the elections.”

“Bawumia is winning.”

The declaration seems to have cemented the belief within Dr. Bawumia’s camp that his calm and serious approach to campaigning will prevail.

The NPP delegates’ conference will be the ultimate test of whether his self-restraint and commitment to engaging with grassroots supporters will translate into victory.

With the conference just weeks away, political observers eagerly await the outcome that will determine the NPP’s flagbearer in the upcoming national elections.
