The Greater Accra Regional Youth Wing of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has thrown its weight behind Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
Ahead of the party’s presidential primaries, the youth wing insists Dr Bawumia has demonstrated his proficiency as a competent leader both in the capacity of Vice President and in his previous job as an economist and as a banker.
At a press conference in Accra on Thursday, June 15, 2023, the Deputy Greater Accra Regional Youth Organiser, Mandela Wiafe Edward said the veep remains the suitable candidate to break the 8 for the NPP.
He said, “We further believe that H.E. Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s candidature will not only help in breaking the 8 but will also benefit the youth of our country most especially the Greater Accra Regional Youth Wing.”
“His efforts in digitizing the economy and improving access to technology demonstrate his understanding of the contemporary challenges facing the young people of today.”
“We are confident that H-E Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia will continue to prioritize the need of the youth if elected as flag bearer for the New Patriotic Party and subsequently the President of the Republic of Ghana.”
