An aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary primary in the Nandom Constituency, Alois K.K. Mohl has petitioned the national party to investigate machinations being employed to tarnish his reputation and hinder his candidacy
He accused the Nandom Constituency Secretary, Mr. Martin Wuoyang, of orchestrating fraudulent activities in an attempt to have him disqualified from the party’s parliamentary primaries.
Mohl alleged that on January 7, 2024, two Polling Station executives, Philip Naaka and Simon Nibedong Mwaakpaar, were coerced into signing a letter that accused him (Alois Mohl) of forging their signatures and thumbprints on his nomination forms.
The letter, dated January 4, 2024, was addressed to the General Secretary and circulated on various WhatsApp platforms by associates of the sitting MP and Interior Minister Hon. Ambrose Dery.
Upon discovering the letter, Mohl contacted the executives, who claimed they did not write it but were coerced to sign it by the Constituency Secretary.
Subsequently, Mr. Simon Nibedong Mwaakpaar, in a WhatsApp chat with Mohl, detailed the pressure exerted on him by Gregory Naacke (PA to Hon. Ambrose Dery) and others to sign the letter though he refused to author it.
Distressed by what he did, Mr. Simon Nibedong Mwaakpaar issued a disclaimer on January 9, 2024, stating that he never wrote the letter but signed it against his will.
Alois Mohl questioned how the nomination form he filed at the national headquarters and submitted to the Vetting Committee found its way into the hands of his detractors who have photocopied portions and are using it to harass those who endorsed it.
Following the submission of his nomination forms, the Nandom Constituency Secretary petitioned the NPP General Secretary alleging that Mr. Alois Mohl forged signatures and thumbprints of the two polling station executives.
Fortunately, Mwaakpaar Nibedong Simon subsequently wrote a disclaimer and indicated he was first coerced to write the letter accusing Alois Mohl of signature fraud but he refused.
And that on January 7th, 2024 he was picked from home to the party office where the Constituency Secretary, Martin Wuoyang, had written the letter alleging Alois Mohl used his (Mwaakpaar Simon) details without his knowledge to file his nomination.
“I want to say that I fully consented to filling Uncle Alois Mohl’s forms. People should disregard the one circulating in which he is accused of forgery.”
“Gregory Naaeke and other polling station executives from the Kogper Polling Station pressured me. I, therefore, apologize to Hon. Alois Mohl,” the disclaimer stated.
Alois Mohl contended that these actions were part of a larger scheme to support his disqualification from contesting the Interior Minister for the Nandom seat.
He called on the party to investigate the alleged infiltration of his nomination form at the national level, which found its way into ‘foreign hands,’ leading to harassment of those who endorsed it.
Alois Mohl also accused the Regional vetting committee of bias, seeking appropriate sanctions against both the Constituency Secretary and the Regional vetting committee.
He demanded a fair resolution to restore integrity to the party in the region, particularly in Nandom, and vowed to redeem his image through any legal avenues available to him.
