The NPP government has since 2017 made significant efforts to solve enduring problems in education, health and in poverty reduction.
Summarized in a single sentence, the government has picked important and difficult problems to solve and is showing progressive success.
The party disclosed these at its weekly update to report verifiable projects that have been newly initiated, ongoing or completed across the country, which covers the period 12 – 16 September 2022.
Building transportation networks
Every major mode of transportation from railroads to airports has received critical financial support from the government.
The Tema-Mpakadan Railway project is 95% complete and is on course to be fully completed by December 2022. This will reduce road traffic in the area as well as increase economic activity along the route.
Work on the Eastern Corridor road has been ongoing by the government since 2019. On September 12, 2022 the Vice President commissioned 56.4km of road on the Hohoe-Jasikan-Dodo-Pepesu stretch. An additional 45km on the Asikuma-Have stretch has also been completed. This is just one of the 58 road projects currently under construction in the Volta Region, progressing steadily and expected to be completed as scheduled in 2023.
30 of the 50 Composite Modular Steel Bridges project, for which the government signed a €50-million agreement with the government of Czech Republic in 2019, have been completed. Out of the 30 completed, 8 are ready to be handed over while 22 are currently undergoing testing.
A multi-purpose Atlantic Terminal project at the Takoradi Port, the single most significant investment in the history of the Takoradi Port since its establishment, is currently 98% complete.
175-metre span bridge over a tributary of the Black Volta River from Agbenoxoe to Dafor has been commissioned.
Investment in Communications, Health and Education
Communication networks like the transportation system create lots of external benefits and are one of the most expensive public investments.
The government is on track to be the one that has made the most investment in Communications and technology that supports various systems and services.
2,000 new communities have been hooked to the national grid. This brings urban electrification to 95.2% with 72.6% of rural communities covered.
The NHIS is on course to becoming fully digitalized by early 2023 to enable people conveniently and securely register for health insurance online to ease traffic at NHIS district offices and accelerate access to quality affordable healthcare.
Agenda 111 District Hospitals in Akatsi North, South Dayi, Ho West, Afadzato South, Agotime Ziope, and Anloga in the Volta region are being built with steady progression and are expected to be completed in 2023.
900 and 200 Dual Desks for schools have been presented to the Accra Metropolitan and Juaben Municipal Education Services Directorate respectively, for onward distribution to various schools and thus promising an end to ill-fitted schools unable to deliver quality education.

The North Tongu District Magistrate Court at Battor has been completed
Poverty reduction
BOST’s revenue-earning assets, which prior to 2017 had declined to 34% currently increased to 95% as the government continues to turn the fortunes of hitherto loss-making state companies around.
All these projects show the government’s commitment to developing Ghana for all Ghanaians in spite of the present economic challenges.
To ensure that Ghanaians continue to develop and benefit from these investments they must all take full advantage of these projects to accelerate development.
