President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has declared the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will fulfil its mantra and break the 8 in 2024.

The government, he said, has done more than enough to prepare the platform for victory as evidenced by the performance of the administration since assuming the reins of power.

He said the party also displayed an organizational skill and capacity no political party has exhibited before in Ghana at the national delegates’ conference to elect new leaders to steer the NPP to that imminent victory.

According to him, the ruling party went through its elections with a lot of composure, unity and coherence and expressed hope the same composure will guide its future.

He stated the agreement brokered by the government with the labour unions over the Cost of Living Allowance (CoLA) demonstrates the NPP has always had and will continue to have the concerns of the working people of Ghana.

Addressing the NPP national delegates’ conference at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, President Akufo-Addo said at the height of the coronavirus pandemic, no single worker in the public sector was dismissed and no worker lost their salary through salary cuts.

“On the contrary, not were they only paid in full and their jobs protected, we went further to make it possible to organize free water and electricity for the ordinary people of our country.”

“This is a measure of the concern of the NPP for the working people of our country,” he said.

These concerns for the welfare of ordinary Ghanaians, he said, will guide the party in the negotiations the government will have with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

According to him, the government’s responsibility is to confront the difficulties facing the nation and the people and find an effective solution to them.

“And that is exactly what we going to do,” he added.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has declared the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will surmount its mantra and break the 8 in 2024.

The NPP, he said, has a tradition of taking Ghana out of difficulties and stressed he has done it before and is going to do it again; and in so doing the strong economy he will build will be the one to provide the platform for NPP to break the 8 in 2024.
