Minister for Energy, Mathew Opoku Prempeh, has emphasized the critical importance of the youth in the upcoming 2024 polls for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He underscored the need to energize the party’s base, calling on the youth to lead a robust campaign in support of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the party’s flagbearer.
In an address at the Ashanti Regional Youth Conference of the NPP held at the Prempeh Assembly Hall in Kumasi on Saturday, Mathew Opoku Prempeh outlined the pivotal role the youth must play in securing victory for the NPP in the elections
The enthusiastic gathering was under the theme “A formidable Youth Wing; a Catalyst for Breaking the 8.
He said, “I have enormous confidence in the ability of the NPP youth wing to lead a campaign that will expose the deficiencies in the promises of John Mahama, whose record in government is nothing to write home about.”
Speaking on the achievements of the NPP in government, he stressed the party’s ability to bring down inflation, for example, from 54.1% a year ago to the current figure of 26.4%.
This, he said, is a testament that the Akufo-Addo government is not resting on its oars and adding, “We know what we are about.”
Mr. Opoku Prempeh did not shy away from comparing the NPP’s track record with that of the opposition, stating, “The NPP record in government is superior to that of John Mahama and the NDC.”
“We must be bold to tell the Ghanaian people about our solid track record in the context of the challenges we have had to navigate through as a government.”
Reiterating the party’s message, he indicated that the NPP continues to be the only credible party with a proven track record, holding the most reliable blueprint for the growth and prosperity of our country.
The Minister rallied the youth, saying, “Together, we shall work hard to break the 8!”
The event, attended by fervent party supporters, resonated with the call for a united and energized youth wing to propel the NPP to success in the 2024 polls.
