The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has made history in Okaikwei Centrall as its candidate, Hon. Baba Sadiq, secured the parliamentary seat in the 2024 general elections.
This marks the first time the NDC has won the seat since the constituency was established.
According to official results, Hon. Baba Sadiq garnered 21,303 votes, representing 52.92% of the total valid votes cast, defeating the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) incumbent, Patrick Boamah, who secured 18,951 votes (47.08%).
In a statement released by the Constituency Executive Committee, the NDC celebrated the victory as a landmark achievement and a turning point for the constituency.
“A new dawn has emerged in OkaiKwei Central, and we urge all our party members to come out in their numbers to celebrate this sweet victory,” the statement said
The Okaikwei Central win is being hailed as a significant boost for the NDC, further solidifying its performance in the Greater Accra Region during the 2024 elections.
