Minister of Defence-designate, Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, is set to face Parliament’s Appointments Committee today Tuesday, January 28, 2025.
Alongside the Defence Minister-designate, four other nominees will also appear before the Committee to be vetted.
The exercise will commence at 9:00 AM with Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, who has been nominated for the position of Minister of Defence.
At 11:00 AM, Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum, a Member of Parliament, will face the committee as the nominee for Minister of State in Charge of Special Initiatives.
The afternoon session begins at 1:00 PM, with Adjei Kenneth Gilbert scheduled for vetting as the Minister for Works, Housing, and Water Resources.
Next in line, at 3:00 PM, is Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo, MP, who has been nominated for the position of Greater Accra Regional Minister.
The vetting process will conclude at 5:00 PM with Charity Gardiner, the nominee for Ahafo Regional Minister, rounding off the day’s proceedings.
These appointments mark an important step in the President’s efforts to solidify his government team, pending approval from the committee and the full Parliament.
