Parliament will be conducting a headcount vote today, December 7, 2023, to approve the 2024 budget.
The debate on the budget concluded on Wednesday, November 29, and the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, declared a voice vote in favour of the Majority.
However, the Minority Caucus contested the result and demanded a headcount vote, which caused the Majority group to walk out.
The Speaker, Alban Bagbin, subsequently announced that the vote would be conducted today on the approval of the government’s economic policy and budget statement to pave the way for the approval of budget estimates.
