Parliament will resume sitting on Thursday (7 November), an official statement has said.
The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, on Tuesday (22 October) adjourned the House indefinitely.
The Speaker announced that by Article 104, the numbers in the House are not sufficient for us to make decisions,”
The decision follows chaotic scenes as the Members of Parliament from the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) moved to occupy the seats of the Majority Caucus, the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
A statement issued by the Office of the Speaker on Thursday (31 October) said, ”Pursuant to Article 112(3) and Orders 5 and 53 of the Standing Orders of the Parliament of Ghana, I Rt Hon Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin Speaker of Parliament hereby summons Parliament to sit on 7 November 2024 at Ten O’clock in the forenoon at the Grand Arena, Accra International Conference Centre.”
