Parliament has directed the Ministry of Education to defer the December 4 reopening date for fresh SHS students to January 4, 2024

Speaker Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin underscored the urgency of the matter during the sitting on Thursday and summoned the Minister of Education for a briefing before the House on Monday, December 4.

He urged the Ministry of Education to consider the first week of January 2024 as a more suitable reopening date and thus allowing ample preparation for parents, students, and teachers.

The House, through the Media Relations Department, issued a statement emphasizing the need for a more convenient and appropriate time to commence the academic term.
