With just a day to Ghana’s crucial presidential and parliamentary elections, the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) is exuding confidence and excitement.

The Middle-Belt Campaign Coordinator for the Vice President and NPP flagbearer, Hon. Dr. Nana Ayew Afriyie, has boldly predicted a commanding performance in the middle belt regions, forecasting a total of 99 parliamentary seats, including 15 new constituencies.

Speaking to the media in Kumasi during the climax of the NPP’s campaign in the middle belt zone, the assured and upbeat Effiduase-Asokore MP emphasized the party’s preparedness for a decisive victory. “We have put all the necessary structures in place to secure a resounding win in both the presidential and parliamentary elections,” he stated.

Hon. Ayew Afriyie outlined the party’s strategy, revealing five major indicators driving their optimism in the middle belt.

Among these is the goal of flipping key constituencies, including the Tain Constituency, the home of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Chairman, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah.

“We can state emphatically that after an exhaustive and comprehensive campaign across all the 6 regions, the NPP is set to win a total of 99 seats in Ashanti, Eastern, Bono East, Ahafo, Western North and Eastern Regions” Hon. Ayew Afriyie predicted.

Acknowledging the challenges faced during the campaign, Hon. Ayew Afriyie credited the flagbearer, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and his dedicated campaign team for their resilience and hard work.

The MP further projected that the NPP would secure over 51% of the total votes, underscoring the party’s appeal in the middle belt.

He attributed this to the NPP’s “solid and time-tested policies and programs” which, he argued, resonate more with Ghanaians compared to the opposition’s campaign.

Reassuring voters about safety, Hon. Ayew Afriyie expressed confidence in the security arrangements for the elections.

“We want to assure all Ghanaians, especially voters in the 6 regions under the middle belt zone that they have nothing to worry about because their security is fully assured, they must go to their polling stations and cast their ballots for the NPP and Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia without fear or intimidation”
