The Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central, Hon. Patrick Yaw Boamah, in collaboration with Triage Centre and Sangy Global, organized a free health screening event to promote women’s health in the constituency.
The event, in celebration of Mother’s Day, was held at the Lapaz branch of Fidelity Bank and focused on raising awareness about breast and cervical health—two critical issues affecting women in Ghana.
Scores of women from the Okaikwei Central Constituency turned up for the screening, which also offered general health checks and consultations with medical professionals.
Hon. Boamah emphasized the importance of preventive healthcare, especially for women who often overlook their own health needs while caring for their families.
“This initiative is part of our commitment to ensuring that mothers and women in our community have access to essential healthcare services,” he said.
Healthcare professionals from the Triage Centre and Sangy Global were on-site to conduct the screenings and provide health education. The initiative also served as a platform to educate attendees about the importance of early detection in the fight against breast and cervical cancer.
Many beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the event, describing it as timely and impactful.
This Mother’s Day initiative reaffirms the MP’s ongoing dedication to the well-being of his constituents, particularly women, through meaningful partnerships and proactive health programs.
