Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Grace Ansah-Akrofi, the Director of Public Affairs, stated that although the situation remained calm, security agencies continued to maintain vigilance.

She assured that they would uphold measures to ensure peace and order throughout the transition period.

“We remain committed to safeguarding the peace of our beloved country, Ghana, through effective security measures implemented by the National Election Security Task Force, with the support of the good people of Ghana,” she said on Wednesday during a media briefing in Accra.

Providing an update, ACP Grace Ansah-Akrofi revealed that nine additional suspects had been arrested in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of arrests related to post-election disturbances to 115.

She reiterated several measures being implemented to safeguard the country’s peace.

These include intensified joint day and night patrols with the military, intelligence-led operations to identify and apprehend those responsible for lawlessness, and the deployment of static security at key government facilities, such as district and municipal authorities.

ACP Ansah-Akrofi  urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any security issues by contacting the toll-free number 0800 311 311.

“We remain committed to working with you to ensure peace, security, law and order in our country. Let us all work together to preserve the peace we enjoy,” she said.
