President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has directed the Ghana Education Service (GES) to to consider an alternative disciplinary action against the eight students of the Chiana SHS.
The intervention follows an uproar that greeted dismissal of the students for insulting the President in a viral video sometime last year.
A statement from the Ministry of Education said the President’s attention was drawn to the matter and, “Consequently, the Minister for Education Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has directed the Ghana
Education Service to consider an alternative disciplinary action instead of dismissal.”
