Prof. Ransford Gyampo has been elected President of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) at the University of Ghana (UG).
With an impressive 93.3 per cent of the total valid votes cast, Prof Gyampo secured the position, promising to strongly advocate for the interests of his fellow educators.
Taking the helm of UTAG, Prof Gyampo expressed his determination to champion the concerns of his colleagues with vigour and proactivity. Drawing from his past experience as General Secretary, he acknowledged the potential challenges, even the loss of friendships, that could arise as he strives to better the circumstances of university teachers.
In a post on his Facebook Wall, Prof Gyampo emphasized that his intentions are driven by the desire to advance the welfare of the academic community, rather than any ill will towards any particular regime and outlined his commitment to acting in the best interests of his constituency.
