The case involving two Adisadel College students at Quaque House as captured in a viral video has been suspended by a Cape Coast District Court.
His Lordship Eric Oheneba Antwi Boasiako adjourned the case to Wednesday, September 27 to allow the students write the upcoming West African Senior Schools Certificate Examinations (WASSCE).
Though parents of the two teenagers and some members of the general public were court to witness proceedings, the case was heard in the judge’s chamber due to its sensitivity.
The culprit did not admit to the charges of assault and causing harm leveled against him.
He is still on bail, nonetheless.
Meanwhile, the Housemaster, Ekow Holman, is still on interdiction as authorities at Adisadel College are investigating the matter.
In the viral video, the two students are seen with a few others around and one supposedly taking the shot.
The culprit is seen holding tightly the neck of the victim and hitting his head against the metallic bed frame. Immediately, the victim’s face gets swollen.
The incident has been condemned by many with old Santaclausians expressing surprise at the students’ actions.
“I haven’t followed much of what happens in my alma mater since I completed about 22 years ago,” old boy Palgrave Boakye-Danquah wrote on Facebook on Tuesday, July 25, “but for the regular school WhatsApp groups.
“I’m sure this viral video showing either a bullying incident and murderous behavior is very uncharacteristic of Adisadel College students.
“We held our school ode and anthem in such great esteem that it guided our behavior.”
