The plaintiff has also sued Media General Ghana Limited operators of Onua TV demanding damages in the sum of Five Million Ghana Cedis (GHS 5,000,000.00)

According to the lawyers of the Plaintiff, their client was libeled when Captain Smart uttered some words which defamed him on the “Onua Maakye” show on 6th February 2025.

Aside cost, Koku Anyidoho also wants the Court to order Captain Smart to render an apology and retract the words complained of.

The lawyers also seek a perpetual injunction restraining the defendants, whether by themselves, their servants, agents, or assigns, from repeating similar or other defamatory words against the Plaintiff.

Koku Anyidoho’s lawyers also want a declaration that the words uttered by Captain Smart on 6th February 2025 during the said “Maakye” program, which were published on GhanaWeb.com together with a 59-second video on 8th February 2025 is defamatory of the Plaintiff.

The plaintiff in his statement of claim among other things alleged that Captain Smart said that When Mahama goes to the Jubilee House, Koku Anyidoho tramples upon Mahama as if he is nothing during Professor John Evans Atta Mill’s tenure as president.

Captain Smart again claimed that the Plaintiff subjected President Mahama to psychological trauma and frustration that it forced Mahama to write a resignation letter as the Vice President of Ghana.
